According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), around one-third of the food produced in the world is wasted each year.
This is a huge problem because it means that all of the resources that went into producing that food,
including water, land, and energy, are also wasted.
Studies from the UN indicated that food loss and waste account for about 33 gigatonnes of greenhouse gas emissions.
It takes a lot of energy to produce food, so if we waste food we waste energy
